RANGPUR CORRESPONDENT : The 66th Infantry Division of Bangladesh Army conducted a free health camp and offered food to the vulnerable people at Osmanpur village under Ghoraghat upazila of Dinajpur district on Sunday.
The food packages containing rice, flour, sugar, pulse, salt and tea were distributed among the 200 destitute families of the village.
The 66th Infantry Division conducted a day-long free health camp for the villagers. Specialists of Army medical core have given free treatment and medicines to around 500 people for different health complications.
Senior officials of Rangpur Cantonment were present at the camp.
Lt Colonel Mursalin Mahmud, Commanding Officer 25 Brigade of Rangpur Cantonment said, `we have offered the service among the underprivileged villagers according to the instruction of GOC of 66 Infantry division and Rangpur Area Commander Major General Mohammad Kamrul Hasan Sir.’
Bangladesh Army will continue the benevolent activities in the days to come, he added.
A beneficiary of the village, Ambia Begum (60), said that she had undergone different health tests and received free medicine from the health camp alongside food support for one month.
