Dancing with the Stars said goodbye to two celebrities on Tuesday night. Corey Feldman and Baron Davis were both eliminated in a surprise double cut.
The results were determined by combining judges’ scores with viewer votes from home. The episode featured performances set to classic one-hit wonder songs.
Early Leaders Emerge as Judges Return to Full Panel
Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles and her partner Ezra Sosa scored a strong 22 out of 30 points. According to ABC, their jive to “Maniac” earned high praise from judge Carrie Ann Inaba.
They were joined at the top of the leaderboard by Jen Affleck, Robert Irwin, and Whitney Leavitt. Each of these pairs also secured a score of 22 points for the night.
The judging panel was back to full strength with Carrie Ann Inaba’s return. This meant scores were out of a possible 30 points, unlike the season premiere.
Feldman and Davis Fall Short in Combined Scoring
Corey Feldman and pro Jenna Johnson earned 15 points for their cha-cha to “Baby Got Back.” Baron Davis and Britt Stewart scored slightly higher, with 18 points for their samba.
However, these scores were not enough when combined with the previous week’s results. The combination of judge scores and audience votes sealed their fate.
The double elimination marks the first major shake-up of the season. The competition now continues with a smaller, more competitive field.
The DWTS double elimination proves that no one is safe in the ballroom. The competition returns next Tuesday on ABC and Disney+.
