Big’s 103 in Fredericksburg, Texas, has received a $250,000 retailer bonus after selling one of two winning tickets in the Sept. 6, 2025 Powerball drawing. The record-setting jackpot totaled $1.787 billion, the second-largest in U.S. history. The main Powerball winning numbers were 11, 23, 44, 61, 62 and Powerball 17.
The Texas check presentation took place on Oct. 1. Officials said the retailer bonus recognizes the store’s role in the historic Powerball win. The second winning ticket was sold in Missouri.
Retailer Bonus, Prize Options, and Claim Deadlines
Big’s 103 is located at 11905 E. U.S. Highway 290, southeast of Fredericksburg. Store staff posed with a ceremonial check as the Texas Lottery marked the moment. The $250,000 bonus comes from the state’s retailer incentive program tied to jackpot-winning tickets.
Two tickets hit the jackpot on Sept. 6. Each ticket is eligible for an annuity worth $893.5 million or a lump-sum cash value of about $410.3 million, before taxes. Texas officials confirmed their winner chose the cash option at the time of purchase for $410,324,470.28, pre-tax.
The Missouri winner has already claimed the prize and opted for the cash payout. Their winning ticket was purchased at a QuikTrip at 12100 Lusher Road in St. Louis County. QuikTrip was awarded a separate retailer bonus under Missouri rules.
The Texas ticket has not yet been publicly claimed. Under Texas rules, the winner has 180 days from the drawing date to come forward. That sets a claim deadline of March 5, 2026, and claims must be completed in person at lottery headquarters in Austin.
What It Means for Fredericksburg and the Wider Lottery Picture
Retailer bonuses do more than reward a lucky location. They help offset added foot traffic and attention, and they highlight the role stores play in selling and validating tickets. For Big’s 103, the bonus is also a local economic boost.
The $1.787 billion Powerball run ended a stretch of 42 drawings without a top prize. It also reinforced how big jackpots draw players and generate added proceeds for public programs. Officials in both states noted that lottery dollars support education and veterans’ services.
The bottom line: a historic Powerball win led to a six-figure bonus for Big’s 103 and life-changing payouts for two players. The Powerball win will be remembered in Fredericksburg and St. Louis for years to come.
