EDUCATION DESK: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Guwahati (AIIMS) at Changsari, North Guwahati will start functioning in April, this year.
This was announced by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma recently along the side-lines of the inauguration programme of Jorpukhuri in Uzan Bazar.
CM Sarma further added that the construction of the bridge connecting Guwahati – North Guwahati, will be completed by the end of 2023, and the bridge will be the shortest means for Guwahatians to reach AIIMS. It will take 10 minutes to reach AIIMS from Uzan bazar, he added.
In the programme, Sarma also said that the construction of the second Medical College in Guwahati has been initiated and will be completed latest by next year.
