Accountability Lab East and Southern Africa (ALESA) has opened applications for its Climate Justice Incubator. The program targets young civic leaders aged 18 to 30 from five African nations. The deadline for applications is November 28, 2025.

Climate Justice Incubator

This initiative aims to move beyond theory and support tangible community-driven climate solutions. Selected participants, known as “Climatepreneurs,” will receive a year of dedicated support to grow their ideas.

Program Offers Mentorship and Network Building

The twelve-month incubator provides comprehensive training and hands-on support. According to ALESA, the focus is on fairness, voice, and power within the climate crisis. Participants will join a network of innovators and storytellers.

By the program’s end, Climatepreneurs will have designed and implemented a justice-centered climate project. They will also strengthen leadership and advocacy skills. The goal is to build a lifelong network of accountability champions.

Addressing Climate Inequity Through Thematic Pillars

The incubator is structured around five key thematic areas. These pillars guide the type of innovations the program seeks. They include Climate Justice Innovation and Community-Led Resilience.

Other focus areas are Storytelling and Advocacy, along with Transformative Systems and Policy Change. The final pillar is Intersectional Climate Action, connecting climate with gender and economy. This approach ensures solutions are holistic and address root causes of inequity.

The ALESA Climate Justice Incubator represents a significant investment in Africa’s youth. It empowers a new generation to lead the fight for a sustainable future. This climate justice incubator is a critical step toward equitable environmental solutions.
