Apple Invites UK Public to Design Christmas Trees for Battersea Power Station Projection

By Ebrahim HossenNovember 3, 20253 Mins Read

Apple is inviting people across the United Kingdom to design digital Christmas trees. The winning artworks will be projected onto the iconic chimneys of London’s Battersea Power Station this December. This new campaign is called “Your Tree on Battersea.”

The initiative encourages participants to express their creativity using an iPad and Apple Pencil. British comedian Munya Chawawa is hosting the project. It represents a shift from previous years by opening the installation to public submissions.

How to Submit Your Festive Artwork

Submissions for Your Tree on Battersea are open now. The deadline is 11:59 p.m. on November 23, 2025. Twenty-four winning public entries will be chosen for the grand display.

Apple is providing support through free creative sessions. Special 30-minute Today at Apple sessions will run at all 39 UK Apple Stores from November 6 to November 22. Participants can also download templates from home to create and submit their designs.

The winning entries will be unveiled on December 4. The projection will light up the power station’s river-facing chimneys and wash towers. This creates a major public art spectacle in central London.

A New Chapter for a Holiday Tradition

This marks the first time the public can directly contribute to the annual installation. According to details confirmed by Apple, the display will also feature work from artists and public figures. Sir Stephen Fry and David Shrigley OBE are among the confirmed contributors.

This move engages the community directly in a high-profile holiday event. It also highlights the creative potential of Apple’s tools like iPad and Apple Pencil. The campaign turns a corporate-sponsored event into a collaborative public art project.

The installation has a notable history. Last year featured a digital work by David Hockney created on iPad Pro. This year’s public inclusion significantly expands the project’s scope and audience reach.

This public art project redefines holiday celebrations by blending technology with community creativity. The Apple Christmas tree campaign brings a unique interactive experience to London’s skyline.
