Expectations around the next generation of Appleâs flagship iPhones have cooled somewhat after a fresh industry leak suggested that the upcoming Pro model may arrive with fewer visible changes than many fans anticipated.

According to information shared by the well-known tipster DigitalChatStation, the next premium handset from Apple Inc. â widely discussed as the Apple iPhone 18 Pro â could rely on several hardware components already used in the current Pro lineup rather than introducing major design revisions.
The report indicates that Apple is preparing a high-end processor for the device. Yet beyond the chipset, the broader hardware package may remain close to what is already seen in the iPhone 17 Pro series.
For consumers who expected a visible redesign following the changes introduced with the latest models, the suggestion points in a different direction.
DigitalChatStation claims the phone could continue using the same display panel and Dynamic Island hardware used in the current generation. That would mean little to no change in screen size or the top-screen interface system sometimes referred to as the âSmart Island.â
If the information proves accurate, Appleâs next Pro handset could look very similar to its immediate predecessor, at least from the front.
The timing of the claim is notable because several competing manufacturers are reportedly exploring larger displays for upcoming flagship devices. Companies including Huawei, Honor, and Samsung are said to be developing phones that push beyond current screen sizes.
One of the most talked-about developments comes from Huawei. The Chinese technology company is reportedly preparing a smartphone with a screen approaching seven inches, a size that would noticeably exceed the displays used on most current flagship models.
Another Chinese brand, Vivo, is also believed to be working on large-screen devices in the same category.
Huaweiâs own next premium release could also widen the display gap. Reports suggest that the upcoming Huawei Pura 90 series may maintain or even increase the 6.8-inch panel used in the previous Pura generation.
Beyond display size, Huawei is continuing to refine its software-based Live View feature through updates. However, the company has not confirmed when it might move to an under-screen 3D face recognition system.
For now, the latest leak paints a picture of two different strategies emerging in the flagship smartphone market. Some brands appear focused on pushing display size and visual hardware forward, while Apple may be leaning toward a more incremental hardware cycle for its next Pro device.

None of the companies involved have publicly confirmed these details, and plans often evolve during development. Still, the report offers an early glimpse into how the next wave of premium smartphones could begin to take shape.
For Apple watchers, the message is simple: the next leap may come from the processor rather than from the screen.
