Arunachal: Naara-Aaba raises Rs 75 lakh at shark tank India

INTERNATIONAL DESK: Entrepreneur Tage Rita from Arunachal Pradesh recently won a deal worth Rs 75 lakh on Shark Tank India (Season 2) for her winery NaaraAaba.

With a long history of helping businesses succeed, Shark Tank India is well known for its assistance to business owners. With its fund, the program is stepping up its commitment to entrepreneurs by offering them immediate financial assistance.

Entrepreneur Tage Rita had the opportunity to present her line of Kiwi wines under the brand name Naara-Aaba this year during season 2 of Shark Tank India. The Naara-Aaba winery is one of the first businesses from Northeast India to be featured on the Shark Tank India platform. It is situated in Hong Village, Ziro Valley, Arunachal Pradesh.

On March 13, 2023, Rita presented her wine products to the Sharks Aman Gupta, Namita Tappar, Amit Jain, Vineeta Singh, and Vikas D. Nahar in an episode that aired on the Sony LIV channel.

Of the five sharks, Vineeta Singh of Sugar Cosmetics and Vikas D. Nahar of Happilo joined the group with an offer of Rs. 50 lakhs for 5% equity and Rs. 25 lakhs in loan at 10% interest, totaling Rs. 75 lakhs in finance.

Naara-Aaba is affiliated with the recently concluded Arunachal 2023 as its title sponsor, in addition to the financing obtained through the Shark Tank India platform.

The voyage of NaaraAaba began in 2017 with the aim of connecting markets for the region’s abundant but underutilized kiwi fruits. To produce wine out of kiwis, Rita started buying them from the neighbourhood farmers.

Before that, the region’s kiwi farmers were unable to obtain a fair market price for their goods, resulting in the wastage of the fruit. In addition to producing kiwi wines today, the winery has now broadened its selection to include other fruit varieties like plums, wild apples, and pears.

Tourists are welcome to visit the winery and partake in wine tastings while there.This year, they intend to introduce their wines in additional states, including Assam. (THE SENTINEL)
