The London School of Economics has announced a new application cycle for its prestigious Atlantic Fellows for Social and Economic Equity (AFSEE) programme. The fully-funded fellowship is designed for mid-career leaders combating inequality worldwide. The deadline for applications is January 16, 2026. This initiative aims to build a powerful global network dedicated to systemic change.

Atlantic Fellows Programme Offers Two Tracks for Global Leaders

The AFSEE programme provides two distinct pathways for change-makers. The Residential track involves a full academic year at LSE. Fellows on this track pursue an MSc in Inequalities and Social Science. They also participate in bespoke fellowship modules throughout the year. The Non-Residential track allows fellows to remain in their home countries. They undertake a practice-based project focused on challenging inequality. These fellows travel to London for several intensive modules with the residential cohort. Upon completion, they receive a Postgraduate Certificate in Social and Economic Equity from LSE.

Comprehensive Funding and Lifelong Community Support

Financial support is extensive for both fellowship tracks. According to the programme details, Residential Fellows receive full tuition fees and a £23,000 stipend. The funding also covers travel, accommodation, and visa-related costs. This ensures that financial barriers do not prevent participation.Non-Residential Fellows receive a project grant of up to £10,000. Their travel and module expenses are fully covered by the programme. Both tracks gain access to a lifelong global network of Atlantic Fellows. This community provides ongoing opportunities for collaboration and learning long after the active fellowship year concludes.Eligibility requires a minimum of seven years of professional experience challenging inequality. Residential applicants must qualify for LSE’s MSc programme, typically holding a 2:1 undergraduate degree or equivalent. Non-Residential applicants can be considered with a 2:2 degree or without a degree, focusing more on their practical experience and impact.
