    Baltimore County Crime Wave Hits Essex with String of Armed Robberies

    A surge in violent and property crimes has unsettled communities in eastern Baltimore County. The Essex area was particularly hard hit throughout late September. Police are actively investigating multiple incidents.

    According to the Baltimore County Police Department’s public blotter, these events occurred over a ten-day period. The cluster of crimes has prompted increased patrols and community alerts.

    Weapons Used in Multiple Essex Street Robberies

    Essex accounted for seven separate incidents. This included four robberies and three burglaries. Three of the four robberies involved a weapon.

       

    On September 29, a suspect robbed a victim at 3:30 a.m. The crime occurred on the 1600 block of Middleborough Road. The armed suspect fled with stolen property.

    Two more armed robberies were reported on September 21. One happened in the morning on the 700 block of Amcliffe Road. Another occurred that evening on the 1300 block of Eastern Boulevard.

    Residential Burglaries Add to Community Concerns

    The crime spree also included several break-ins. Essex saw three residential burglaries between September 20 and 28. All involved unknown suspects forcing entry into homes.

    One burglary was reported on Snowberry Court on September 28. Another occurred on Hadwick Drive on September 27. A third break-in was reported on S Marlyn Avenue on September 20.

    Neighboring areas were also affected. Rosedale reported a first-degree burglary on E Boundary Avenue. Middle River saw a second-degree burglary on Oakland Road. Property was stolen in both cases.

    The repeated incidents have raised safety concerns among local residents. Police are urging the public to remain vigilant. They advise reporting any suspicious activity immediately.

    The recent Baltimore County crime spike highlights ongoing public safety challenges. Law enforcement continues to pursue leads on these cases. Community cooperation remains vital for preventing future incidents.
