ZOOMBANGLA DESK: A rape and murder case was filed with the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-8 accusing eight people, including Bashundhara Group managing director Sayem Sobhan Anvir and his father Ahmed Akbar Sobhan, also chairman of the group.
The other accused in the case are Sayem’s mother Afroza, 60, his wife, Sabrina, 40, Sharmin, 40, Saifa Rahman Mim, 35, Faria Mahbub Piyasha and Ibrahim Ahmed Ripon.
Nusrat Jahan, the elder sister of college student Mosarat Jahan Munia, who was found dead at a flat in Dhaka on April 26, 2021, on Monday filed the case.
The tribunal judge Mafroza Parveen directed the Police Bureau of Investigations (PBI) to investigate the case and submit a report by October 6.
Police recovered the hanging body of the 21-year-old college girl, Mosarat Jahan Munia, from a flat at Gulshan-2 in Dhaka.
Following the death, her elder sister Nusrat Jahan filed a case with the Gulshan Police Station accusing the Bashundhara Group MD of ‘abetment of suicide’.
