Be united to keep Bangladesh-India friendship unharmed: Abdur Razzak

ZOOMBANGLA DESK: Agriculture Minister and Awami League presidium member Md Abdur Razzak today said that everyone must be united and remained vigilant against the people who are hatching conspiracies to harm the friendship between Bangladesh and India.

” The defeated forces of Liberation War and anti-independence are still active and involved in conspiracies to harm the Bangladesh-India friendship. So, everyone must be united and remained vigilant to keep the relationship unharmed,” he said.

He was addressing the special general meeting of Bangladesh India Friendship Council as chief guest at Zahur Hossain Chowdhury Auditorium in the capital, said a press release.

Abdur Razzak said that during the Liberation War, people of both the countries — Bangladesh and India– gave their blood and sacrificed their lives. So, the friendship of Bangladesh-India is very important as it is based on blood.”

“Besides, there are some reasons — language, culture, economic and geography – behind the friendship between two countries. That’s why we need to strengthen the relationship and keep it intact for the rest of our lives,” he added.

Former Bangladesh ambassador to Nepal Dr Neem Chandra Bhowmik, Journalist Basudeb Dhar and officials of the body addressed the program, with Convener of Bangladesh-India Sampriti Parishad Prof Md Fazle Ali in the chair.

Later, the body formed a 71-member new executive committee with Md Fazle Ali as the chairperson, Basudeb Dhar as executive chairperson and Mamtaz Chowdhury as the secretary general.
