Sunny Deol’s much-anticipated war drama Border 2 continues to show strong legs at the box office, even as it moves deeper into its theatrical run. The sequel to the 1997 classic Border witnessed a noticeable jump in footfalls on its 16th day, with Saturday audiences once again turning up in large numbers.

Trade trackers observed a clear weekend effect, as ticket sales rose sharply compared to Friday. Collections on Saturday were nearly 50 percent higher than the previous day, a sign that the film is still drawing interest beyond the initial rush. For a film that has already entered its third week, this kind of momentum is often seen as a healthy indicator.
According to Sacnilk, this surge helped Border 2 cross a significant milestone in the Indian market. The film has now officially gone past the Rs 300 crore net collection mark domestically. Despite newer releases hitting theatres, the war drama has managed to hold its ground and stay relevant with audiences.
By the end of day 16, Border 2 earned an estimated Rs 4.5 crore net across India. This took its total domestic net collection to around Rs 301.50 crore. When taxes are added, the India gross figure stands close to Rs 360 crore, placing the film among the highest-grossing releases of recent times.
What makes this performance stand out is the timing. The third week is usually when most big-budget films see a sharp drop in daily earnings. Border 2, however, appears to be defying that trend, supported by steady word of mouth and continued interest in large-scale patriotic stories.
The film has also found reasonable success overseas. Worldwide gross collections have crossed Rs 413 crore, with international markets contributing approximately Rs 52.70 crore. While the bulk of the revenue is still coming from India, overseas numbers have added a solid boost to the overall total.
With these figures, Border 2 has already surpassed the lifetime collections of films like Sultan and Dhoom 3. It is now edging closer to the totals achieved by Padmaavat, doing so at a faster pace.

As things stand, Border 2 remains one of the strongest performers at the box office this season. Its continued run suggests that audience appetite for emotionally driven, patriotic cinema is far from fading.
