After nearly four years away from the stage as a full group, BTS are officially returning together, and Netflix is placing itself at the centre of that moment. The global streaming platform will host BTS’s first complete live performance since their hiatus, turning the comeback into a worldwide shared event rather than a limited local concert.

On March 21, RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook will perform live at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul for BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG. The concert will stream globally on Netflix and will be available to all subscribers, making it one of the most accessible BTS performances in recent years. It also marks the group’s first on-stage appearance together since late 2022, when they stepped back to focus on solo projects and military service.
The timing of the concert is carefully planned. Just one day earlier, on March 20, BTS will release ARIRANG, their fifth studio album. While Netflix and HYBE have not revealed the full set list, songs from the new album will be performed live for the first time, alongside selected tracks from BTS’s earlier catalogue that helped define their global rise.
The choice of location adds symbolic weight to the event. Set against Gwanghwamun, the main gate of Gyeongbokgung Palace, the performance places BTS’s return in front of one of Seoul’s most historically significant landmarks. It quietly underlines how closely the group’s identity is tied to South Korea, even as their influence reaches far beyond it.
Netflix’s involvement does not end with the live concert. On March 27, the platform will premiere BTS: THE RETURN, a feature-length documentary directed by Bao Nguyen. Produced by This Machine and HYBE, the film follows the group as they reunite creatively after completing South Korea’s mandatory military service.
The documentary traces BTS’s first sessions together in Los Angeles following their staggered discharges between 2024 and mid-2025. It captures the emotional and artistic process of finding their footing again as a group, offering behind-the-scenes moments as they reflect on the past, their individual growth, and what comes next.

Their Netflix-backed return is more than a comeback concert. It signals the beginning of a new chapter, shared in real time with fans around the world, and sets the tone for BTS’s next era as a complete group once again.
