Treyarch is fundamentally changing the Call of Duty Battle Pass. The new system launches with Black Ops 7 and Warzone Season 1. These changes aim to make progression faster and more rewarding for all players.

This update directly addresses years of player feedback about the slow, grindy nature of the rewards track. According to Reuters, the developers are calling these “player-focused improvements.”
Revamped Progression System Cuts the Grind
The core structure of the Battle Pass is being adjusted. Earlier pages will now be completed much faster. Players will need to complete fewer tiers to unlock High-Value Target (HVT) content.
Later pages will retain a higher number of tiers. However, Treyarch promises all tiers will contain meaningful rewards. This balances the time investment required in the later stages.
The overall goal is to get high-value items into players’ hands sooner. This applies across the entire 100-tier spectrum. The tedious grind that defined previous passes is being targeted.
New Ways to Earn Rewards Across All Modes
A significant new feature is the ability to earn Battle Pass Tokens. These tokens can be gained by completing Daily Challenges. This system works across nearly every game mode.
This includes Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone. It also extends to the Black Ops 7 Co-Op Campaign and Endgame content. Virtually all playtime will now contribute to Battle Pass progression.
On certain days, completing a bonus Daily Challenge will grant a BP Token. These tokens can be used immediately to advance the Battle Pass. It adds a new layer of daily engagement.
