A major fundraising initiative has been launched to transform grassroots sports in India. The Chance2Sports Foundation hosted a fundraiser at the Cricket Club of India in Mumbai on October 11. The event kicked off a five-year plan aimed at discovering and nurturing athletic talent.

Chance2Sports Foundation

The goal is to raise ₹25 crore for the “NextGen Super 30” project. This program will identify and support 300 promising young athletes from all financial backgrounds. It seeks to ensure a child’s potential, not their bank account, determines their future in sports.

Eminent Support for a Grassroots Mission

The event saw strong backing from prominent sports figures. Naval Pandole, an Executive Committee member of the Cricket Club of India, voiced his strong support. He emphasized the foundation’s focus on providing real opportunities for raw talent.

Legendary Australian squash champion Geoff Davenport also endorsed the initiative. He praised the foundation’s systematic and result-oriented approach. According to his global perspective, this method is key to building lasting sporting excellence.

A Proven Track Record of Success

The foundation’s credibility is bolstered by its past achievements. Its recent cohort of athletes has secured impressive national rankings. Several players have already represented India at international junior events.

This data-driven success validates their model. Co-founder Abhinav Sinha stated they actively seek talent rather than wait for it. The fundraiser demonstrates a public willingness to invest in a merit-based sports future.

A Detailed Roadmap for Talent Development

The ₹25 crore will fund extensive talent identification camps over five years. It will provide world-class coaching and facilities for 150 selected athletes. The support system includes equipment, nutrition, and sports science.

Chetan Desai, the foundation’s co-founder, explained they are颠覆ing the current pay-to-train model. The ultimate, audacious goal is to produce India’s first World Junior squash gold medalist from a community program. This initiative proves that the next generation of champions can come from anywhere.

This new funding model prioritizes athletic potential over financial privilege, paving the way for a more inclusive future in Indian sports through the Chance2Sports Foundation.
