Cyberpunk 2077 has received Patch 2.31 today, September 11, 2025. The update is available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Mac, and Nintendo Switch 2. It builds on the big 2.3 update released earlier this year and adds new improvements.
The focus is on smoother AutoDrive and expanded Photo Mode options. According to developer CD Projekt, the patch also delivers fixes for quests, visuals, and performance across all platforms.
Cyberpunk 2077 Patch Notes Explained
The AutoDrive system has been upgraded. Vehicles now handle traffic better and no longer freeze at red lights. Cars also overtake slow drivers, making city travel more natural. Free Roam mode has been updated to respect road rules while still improving navigation.
A number of vehicle-related bugs have been fixed. Johnny Silverhand no longer spawns in the wrong seat when using Delamain Cabs. The Yaiba ARV-Q340 Semimaru also no longer flashes random colors when CrystalCoat is applied.
Photo Mode gets adjustments too. Poses added in Patch 2.3 now work across all character genders. CD Projekt also disabled NPC collision, making it easier to stage characters on objects such as cars. Royce-specific pose bugs have also been fixed.
Quest and Performance Updates in Patch 2.31
Several quests have been polished. The Freedom mission now shows the correct journal entry if the Rayfield Caliburn is not stolen. In Motorbreath, quest progression has been fixed when chasing the Semimaru. The mission can now also be completed even if players failed The Hunt earlier.
The Nitro side quest has been stabilized. Crashes linked to the Yaiba showroom event have been removed. UI scaling issues with larger HUD settings are also resolved.
The update fixes text and lip sync issues in multiple languages. Players can now toggle vignette in the Graphics menu. PC and Mac users get stability updates, including fixes for ray tracing and HDR mode. NVIDIA Reflex and DLSS Frame Generation compatibility has also been improved.
What This Update Means for Players
Cyberpunk 2077 is nearing its fifth anniversary, but support continues. Patch 2.31 may not be as large as 2.3, yet it makes driving, posing, and mission flow smoother. These changes improve immersion and gameplay stability for both new and long-time players.
CD Projekt has confirmed that Cyberpunk 2 is in pre-production. However, it may not arrive until the next decade. Until then, ongoing patches show the developer’s effort to polish the current game for all platforms.
Cyberpunk 2077 patch notes show that CD Projekt is still improving a game that launched almost five years ago. The focus on driving, visuals, and quests helps players enjoy Night City with fewer interruptions.
