The DAB electric supermoto has entered mass production with the launch of the DAB 1, marking a shift from limited editions to a wider market release. The model was introduced in March 2026 and is now available across Europe and select international regions.
Built on the earlier DAB 1Îą concept, the new version keeps the same design direction but focuses on accessibility and everyday usability. The move signals a broader push toward making electric motorcycles more practical for regular riders.
A lightweight electric supermoto designed for daily riding
The DAB electric supermoto is powered by a 23 kW motor, delivering around 31 horsepower and up to 395 Nm of torque at the rear wheel. With a total weight of 145 kilograms, the bike maintains a strong power-to-weight balance, allowing it to reach speeds of up to 120 km/h.
Power is delivered through a belt drive system, and the bike includes five riding modes: Eco, Street, Sport, Nitrous, and Reverse. The inclusion of a reverse mode is notable, making low-speed maneuvering easier in tight urban spaces.
The battery setup includes a 6.2 kWh nominal capacity, extending to a maximum of 7.1 kWh. This supports a range of up to 120 kilometers under mixed riding conditions, with lower figures when ridden aggressively. Regenerative braking is integrated to improve efficiency during regular use.
Charging is handled through a built-in 2,000-watt charger, removing the need for external equipment. Riders can use a standard household outlet or a Type 2 charging station. Charging times vary, with a 20 to 100 percent charge taking about three hours and a full cycle requiring up to four hours.
The chassis features a tubular steel frame paired with an aluminum swingarm. Suspension duties are managed by a 46 mm upside-down front fork and a central rear shock, both offering 100 mm of travel. Braking hardware includes a four-piston front caliper with a 320 mm disc and a rear single-piston setup, supported by standard ABS.
Positioning electric motorcycles for broader adoption
The DAB electric supermoto arrives at a time when electric two-wheelers are moving beyond niche appeal. Its design focuses on balance rather than extreme performance, making it suitable for new riders and urban commuters.
Features such as keyless start, LED lighting, and a compact digital display reflect a modern but restrained approach. A built-in smartphone mount and small storage compartment add practical value for daily use.
Customization is another key element. Buyers can adjust seat height between 800 mm and 880 mm and choose from a range of accessories, including luggage options and tracking systems. This flexibility positions the bike as adaptable rather than fixed in purpose.
The pricing places it within reach of a broader audience compared to earlier limited models. At the same time, its availability remains focused on Europe, the UK, and a few international markets, with expansion to other regions yet to be confirmed.
The DAB electric supermoto represents a steady step toward making electric motorcycles more usable and approachable. By focusing on range, weight, and everyday practicality, the DAB 1 sets a clear direction for how entry-level electric bikes may evolve in the coming years.
