zoombangla desk: Dr. M. Nazmul Hoque from the Department of Gynecology, Obstetrics and Reproductive Health, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU), Gazipur, has been elected as an Associate Fellow of the Bangladesh Academy of Sciences (BAS), for the very first time as a Veterinarian. The BAS Council in its 4th meeting held on 09 April, 2023 endorsed Dr. Nazmul as an Associate Fellow of the Academy as per Article 5.
Dr. Nazmul is currently working as an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Gynecology, Obstetrics and Reproductive Health, BSMRAU. He is carrying out fundamental research on animal and human health and welfare in collaboration with eminent researchers from home and abroad. Over the years of research, he established himself as a leading researcher in the field of microbial genomics, metagenomics and proteomics. Dr. Nazmul published > 60 articles in the high-profile international peer-reviewed journals scoring > 200 Impact Factor. According to Google Scholar, his publications (h-index: 18, i10-index: 24) have already received over 1400 citations. Dr. Nazmul presented his research findings in more than 20 national and international conferences. He was a Visiting Research Scholar at the Computational Biology Institute, The George Washington University, Washington DC, USA in 2018. Dr. Nazmul was awarded UGC Gold Medal Award 2019 (Life and Medical Sciences) and NYAB (National Young Academy of Bangladesh) Outstanding Doctoral Research Award 2021 for his outstanding performance research. He also received BSMRAU-TA Awards for consecutive two years (2021 and 2022).
