The organization has assembled a high-profile program for its Wish Gala, set to take place at the Fairmont Century Plaza on Dec. 5. Goldie Hawn has been selected to receive the Power of a Wish Award, an honor that will be presented to her by actor son Oliver Hudson. Disney’s Sally Hopkins Conner, a longtime champion of the organization who has helped grant life-changing wishes for more than a decade through her roles as chair of the board and by producing commercials pro bono, will be feted for her efforts with a Philanthropic Leader Award.

The Wish Gala will also feature the Grammy Award-winning talents of music superstar Finneas, who has been booked to perform, while Anthony Anderson is back in the fold as master of ceremonies. The L.A. chapter has also made it clear that it intends to raise funds to grant “100 life-changing wishes” that directly benefit kids and families in the area. The Wish Gala is produced by Harper Sloane Productions.
“My life has always been guided by the pursuit of joy. Children embody that joy so naturally, yet I’ve also seen how stress and uncertainty can dim their light. When a child feels overwhelmed, even dreaming can seem out of reach,” said Hawn, who founded the Goldie Hawn Foundation and launched MindUP, a program that equips children, educators and families with tools to build emotional literacy, manage stress and strengthen resilience. “These children have tackled challenges with such bravery and determination, and are so deserving of the hope a wish experience can bring. I’m proud to accept the Power of a Wish Award to help Make-A-Wish deliver more joy to those families who need it most.”
Hopkins Conner, who serves as vp of global content marketing and programming at the Walt Disney Company’s internal creative agency, began serving as a board member in 2021. She leveled up to chair of the board in 2023. She has executive produced more than 100 hours of content for platforms like Disney+, Hulu, National Geographic and ABC.
“The bravery of these children and their families is truly remarkable. Giving them hope during their most difficult moments is such an important part of the healing process,” said Hopkins Conner. “I’m both proud and deeply humbled that so many children choose Disney to help bring their wishes to life. Every hour of every day, somewhere around the world, Disney is granting a wish — bringing joy, comfort, and a little magic to a child who needs it most.”
