Substantial Grants for Audience and Revenue-Focused AI Projects

The program will award a total of $1.2 million in grants. Twelve news organizations will be selected to receive funding. Eight projects will get $50,000 each. Four larger-scale ideas will be awarded $100,000 each.The funding is strictly for projects using AI to enhance audience intelligence and drive revenue growth. It cannot be used for reporting, fact-checking, or producing news stories directly. This focus helps publishers build sustainable business models for the future.

Strict Eligibility Criteria for Global News Publishers

Eligibility is limited to small and medium-sized publishers with 10 to 200 employees. Applicants must have a verifiable digital presence and have been actively publishing for at least 12 months. The program is open to organizations in over 50 countries across Asia Pacific, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the Americas.Government-owned entities or those affiliated with political parties are not eligible. News publishers that received grants from the first JournalismAI Innovation Challenge are also excluded from applying this round.
