Google has introduced a new feature in call management for Android phone users. This update to the Phone app will make it easier to identify spam and unwanted calls. Under this new feature, calls will be automatically divided into different categories. As a result, users will be able to easily separate necessary and unnecessary calls.
According to technology website Android Authority, the new update to the Google Phone app divides the call list into five sections, such as All Calls, Missed Calls, Contacts, Spam, and Non-Spam. Until now, all calls were shown in the same list. As a result, it took time to find the required number. The new feature will make it easier to find specific categories of calls. However, for now, there is no facility to view incoming and outgoing calls separately.
This feature was first introduced in the Phone app’s public beta version 159.0.718038457, which is a test version of the Pixel 2024 update. Initially, it was limited to users of the beta version only. However, Google has recently been gradually rolling it out to all Android users. Since it is a server-side update, it may take some time to reach everyone’s devices.
Google has recently added several new features to make call management more convenient. One of them is the Call Screen feature. This feature can automatically identify the caller’s identity and the reason for the call before receiving the call. Users can decide to accept or reject the call by looking at this information. In addition, there is a facility to identify unknown numbers through the reverse lookup tool.
