How Galaxy S26 Ultra’s OLED Uses AI for Privacy Protection

Samsung is reportedly going to introduce a new OLED display technology for the Galaxy S26 Ultra next year which relies on AI to help protect users’ privacy.

It will utilize the Flex Magic Pixel technology developed by Samsung Display. The display company has already showcased this technology at MWC and at the K-Display 2025 event this year.

Significant changes are expected for the lineup next year. It’s claimed that the lineup’s branding will be revamped, with the entry level model being called the Galaxy S26 Pro, the “+” model being replaced with the Galaxy S26 Air, while the Ultra branding will be retained for the top-of-the-line model.

Local media reports from Korea highlight that Samsung Display’s Flex Magic Pixel technology is entering full-scale mass production. This raises the possibility of it being used for the Galaxy S26 Ultra and potentially even for the 2026 foldable phones.

This display technology uses AI to control individual OLED panels to adjust viewing angles. For example, if you open a bank app on your Galaxy S26 Ultra that contains sensitive information, the AI will adjust the pixels automatically to restrict viewing angles, so that someone peering over your shoulder can’t see that information.

The effect would be similar to what’s achieved by third-party privacy glass protectors that many users opt to get installed on their phones. While these third-party protectors get the job done, they also negatively impact the display quality and brightness. Flex Magic Pixel will provide all of those benefits while ensuring that users continue to enjoy the display’s full capabilities.

It’s going to be a feature befitting the Galaxy S26 Ultra and would place the device squarely in its own league among next year’s Android flagships, assuming what’s claimed in this report actually ends up happening.
