The Powerball jackpot has hit $1.4 billion. The drawing took place on Wednesday, Sept. 3. It’s one of the largest in Powerball history.

Tickets are on sale across the U.S., including Ohio. A standard Powerball ticket costs just $2.

Ticket Cost and Add-On Options for Powerball Players

Each Powerball play costs $2. This gives you one set of five white balls and one red Powerball.

You can also boost your ticket with add-ons. The “Power Play” option costs an extra $1. It multiplies non-jackpot wins by up to 10 times.

Another option is “Double Play.” It also costs $1. This gives you a second chance to win with the same numbers.

If you choose both Power Play and Double Play, your ticket will cost $4. According to USA TODAY, these add-ons are popular among regular players.

Where and How to Buy Powerball Tickets in Ohio

In Ohio, tickets are easy to find. You can buy them at gas stations, grocery stores, and convenience shops.

You can also buy tickets at self-service machines. Ohio allows cashless payments, including debit cards.

There are spending caps, though. Limits range from $10 up to $700 per week.

Online purchase is also legal in Ohio. Trusted platforms like Jackpocket allow digital orders. Make sure the vendor is licensed.

Sales close at 10 p.m. ET on drawing days. Powerball draws three times a week—Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET.

What Happens If You Win the Powerball?

If you win, you must act fast. Tickets must be claimed within 180 days in Ohio.

Prizes up to $599 can be claimed at any retailer. For $600 to $5,000, you’ll need a claim form and a visit to a bank.

Winnings over $5,000 require a trip to an official lottery office. Winners can choose lump-sum or 30 annual payments.

According to the Ohio Lottery, you must have the original winning ticket. Also, you can only cash tickets in the state where you bought them.

The Powerball jackpot may be huge, but the cost to enter is small. A Powerball ticket costs just $2, with optional $1 add-ons.
