ZOOMBANGLA DESK: Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Vikram Kumar Doraiswami on Sunday called on Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque at the latter’s office.
During the meeting, India’s friendly relations with Bangladesh and various bilateral issues were discussed, said a press release.
Besides, scholarships and treatment for the children of freedom fighters and construction of Swadhinota Sarak in Mujibnagar were also discussed in the meeting, the release added.
The minister with gratitude recalled the support of the government and people of India during the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971.
The Indian High Commissioner lauded the unprecedented development of Bangladesh under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
He mentioned that besides Bangladesh, the Indian people also have great respect for Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The minister also presented the book ‘Secret Document of Intelligence Branch on Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’ to Doraiswami.
Secretary of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs Khwaja Mia, among others, was present on the occasion.
