A new leak has provided fresh details about Intel’s next-generation Battlemage graphics cards. The information comes from a Linux boot log spotted by enthusiasts. It reveals key specifications for one of the upcoming models.

Intel Battlemage GPU

The leak specifically identifies a GPU with the device ID “E221”. This aligns with previously discovered PCI IDs linked to Intel’s Battlemage architecture. The log confirms this particular variant will feature 16 GB of video memory.

Battlemage B770 Specifications Confirmed in Latest Leak

The Linux boot log discovery provides concrete evidence of Battlemage’s progress. Technical observer GawroskiT shared the findings online. The log shows a Battlemage GPU with the internal identifier “E221:0000”.

This device ID matches one of four Battlemage IDs found in Intel’s Compute Runtime code last July. Industry analysts from Wccftech believe this specific ID corresponds to the BMG-G31 GPU die. This die is expected to power the flagship consumer model, likely called the Arc B770.

The 16 GB VRAM capacity indicates a 256-bit memory bus interface. This matches expectations for a high-end gaming graphics card. The specification suggests Intel is targeting the competitive mid-range to high-end market segment.

Performance Expectations and Market Impact

The Battlemage B770 is expected to feature 32 Xe2 cores. This represents a significant upgrade from the current Arc A770’s 32 Xe cores. The new architecture promises substantial performance improvements per core.

According to Reuters, Intel is focusing on power efficiency with its new GPU series. The move to a more advanced manufacturing process should help achieve this goal. The Battlemage GPUs are reportedly being produced on TSMC’s 5nm node.

This places Intel’s manufacturing process ahead of many competitors. The improved efficiency could translate to better performance within similar power envelopes. Gamers might see higher clock speeds without increased power consumption.

The reported 16 GB VRAM capacity keeps Intel competitive with offerings from AMD and NVIDIA. Many modern games increasingly benefit from larger video memory buffers. This specification should position the B770 well for 1440p and 4K gaming.

The Intel Battlemage B770 appears positioned as a compelling option for performance-minded gamers seeking robust specifications without premium pricing. Its 16 GB VRAM capacity addresses growing game memory demands while the new architecture promises efficiency gains.

Info at your fingertips

When will the Intel Battlemage B770 be released?

Intel has not announced an official release date. Industry analysts expect the graphics card to launch before the end of this year. Some suggest it might appear in laptops before desktop versions.

How much will the Battlemage B770 cost?

Pricing information has not been confirmed. Based on Intel’s previous Arc series pricing, it may launch between $300 and $400. This would position it competitively against similar offerings from AMD and NVIDIA.

What performance level will the B770 offer?

The B770 is expected to target 1440p gaming at high settings. It should represent a significant improvement over the current Arc A770. Performance estimates suggest it may compete with mid-range cards from competing manufacturers.

Will Battlemage support ray tracing?

Yes, Intel’s Xe2 architecture will include improved ray tracing capabilities. The company is expected to enhance its XeSS upscaling technology as well. These features should provide better performance in demanding games.

What power supply will the B770 require?

Official power requirements haven’t been announced. Based on the specifications, a quality 600-650W power supply would likely be sufficient. This assumes a typical gaming system without extreme components.
