Fresh claims about Appleâs long-discussed foldable iPhone are beginning to sketch a clearer picture of what the device might look like when it arrives later this year. The latest details, circulating through industry reports and well-known leakers, focus on internal hardware and potential pricing.

The foldable model â widely referred to in leaks as the iPhone Fold â is now expected to launch in September alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. While Apple has not confirmed the product publicly, recent reports suggest development has moved far enough for supply chain details to surface.
A report published by The Bell this week indicates the device will carry 12GB of RAM, matching the memory configuration expected in Appleâs Pro-tier iPhones. The same report suggests the component will be supplied by Samsung, which is said to be providing Apple with LPDDR5X memory for the device.
If accurate, the specification would align the foldable model with the performance class of Appleâs high-end smartphones rather than treating it as a separate category with reduced hardware. It also mirrors the memory configuration reported for the iPhone 17 Pro.
Storage options are also beginning to take shape. According to the leaker known as Instant Digital, the foldable iPhone will be offered in three capacities: 256GB, 512GB and 1TB.
That range mirrors the storage tiers available on the smaller iPhone 17 Pro. However, it falls short of the top configuration on the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which is currently offered with an additional 2TB option.
Pricing estimates circulating alongside the storage leak suggest Apple may position the foldable model at a significantly higher tier than any current iPhone. Instant Digital listed projected prices of 15,999 yuan, 17,999 yuan and 19,999 yuan for the three variants.
When translated to likely U.S. pricing, Macworld noted that the figures would roughly correspond to $1,999 for the 256GB model, $2,199 for the 512GB version and $2,399 for the 1TB option.
Those estimates would place the foldable iPhone well above Appleâs existing flagship models. Even so, the figures broadly match earlier speculation suggesting the first foldable iPhone would land somewhere between $2,000 and $2,400.
For now, the details remain part of the rumor cycle that typically surrounds Appleâs upcoming hardware. But taken together, the emerging information offers an early sense of how the company may position its first foldable device within the iPhone lineup.
