J&K’s Srinagar route to operate 10 additional flights

INTERNATIONAL DESK: Airliners operating on the Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar route have decided to add 10 more flights in their new schedule which has been submitted to the central aviation regulator.

Following the move, the total number of flights scheduled to Srinagar will touch almost 60.

An Airports Authority of India (AAI) official told Greater Kashmir that the new flights include several Delhi-Srinagar flights and flights from other cities of the country to Kashmir.

It may be mentioned that 38 to 44 flights were slotted in the winter schedule this year, which was effective till March 26 and the new summer schedule came into effect from April 1, the newspaper reported.

However, the flight operations have been expanded with the addition of 10 more flights from June 26, mostly aimed at catering tourist influx and Amarnath Yatra Pilgrims, added the newspaper report.

Kuldeep Singh, Director, Srinagar Airport, tweeted: ” We are happy to introduce additional flights. More Flights. More Options. More Passengers. Passenger is the King at our airport.”

The Indian government had declared the Srinagar Airport as a ‘major airport’ last year. (India Blooms)
