Kings of Leon have released a surprise new project. The Nashville rock band dropped EP #2 last week. This marks their first new music since their 2024 album.

The new songs echo the raw energy of their early work. This release follows their recent studio collaboration with country star Zach Bryan.
Inside the Fast-Paced Recording Session with Zach Bryan
Caleb Followill described the quick creative process. He wrote a chorus for Bryan’s song “Bowery” on a flight home. Bryan then immediately proposed a recording session.
“He was like, ‘Next weekend, New York, I want you guys there, we’re recording it!'” Followill recounted. The band recognized the opportunity and brought their own song to the session. They recorded “We’re onto Something” with Bryan as well.
Bryan’s urgency extended to the release plan. He wanted “Bowery” out within a week of recording. Followill was initially surprised by the speed.
Embracing a New Creative Workflow in Music
Followill compared Bryan’s approach to old-school hip-hop. He noted the appeal of a less polished, more immediate process. This method allows fans to see the artistic journey.
“If the only thing they hear from you is the polished finished product, you’re not letting them see the process,” Followill explained. This hands-on style represents a shift from traditional rock recording cycles.
The band released EP #2 on their own Love Tap Records label. They will perform two New Year’s Eve concerts in Las Vegas.
The new Kings of Leon EP showcases the band’s enduring rock sound. Their collaboration with Zach Bryan highlights a dynamic cross-genre partnership. This creative energy continues to drive the band forward.
