KTM has officially rolled out the all-new 160 Duke in India, expanding its Duke lineup and targeting the highly competitive entry-level sports naked motorcycle segment. Priced at ₹1.85 lakh (ex-showroom), the 160 Duke positions itself as a stylish yet performance-focused alternative to rivals like the Yamaha MT-15 and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V. The launch also hints at the arrival of its fully-faired sibling, the RC160, in the coming weeks.

With its aggressive streetfighter stance, premium hardware, and a performance-oriented engine, KTM aims to attract young riders and enthusiasts seeking a bike that blends style, technology, and everyday usability. The company revealed the 160 Duke in Pune on August 11, 2025, marking it as its most affordable model in the Duke family.

KTM 160 Duke Price and Key Specifications

The KTM 160 Duke price in India starts at ₹1.85 lakh (ex-showroom). Despite being the most budget-friendly KTM in the country, it comes loaded with high-end features. Powering the bike is a 164.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, SOHC engine producing 19 hp at 9,500 rpm and 15.5 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. The powertrain is paired with a 6-speed gearbox equipped with a slip and assist clutch for smoother gear shifts and reduced lever effort.

The bike sits on a steel trellis frame, a hallmark of KTM’s design philosophy, ensuring stability and nimble handling. A 17-inch wheel setup, shod with tubeless tyres, supports superior road grip. Suspension duties are handled by premium WP upside-down forks at the front with 138 mm travel and a rear mono-linkage offering 161 mm travel.

Stopping power comes from Brembo-sourced dual-channel ABS, a 320 mm front disc, and a 230 mm rear disc. Fuel tank capacity stands at 10.1 litres, and the bike tips the scales at 147 kg, making it lightweight and agile for city and highway riding.

Features, Colours, and Design Highlights

The KTM 160 Duke embraces modern design cues with an aggressive headlamp, sharp tank shrouds, and a minimalistic tail section. All-LED lighting comes as standard, enhancing visibility and style. A fully digital 5-inch LCD console with smartphone connectivity and navigation support adds a touch of tech sophistication to the package.

Available in three striking colours — Electronic Orange, Atlantic Blue, and Silver Metallic Matte — the bike offers options to suit different tastes. A seat height of 815 mm ensures a sporty yet accessible riding position for most riders.

The launch of the 160 Duke represents KTM’s intent to dominate the 150–160cc performance motorcycle space. This category has witnessed consistent growth in India, especially among younger riders transitioning from commuter bikes to sportier machines. By offering premium hardware, competitive pricing, and KTM’s signature aggressive styling, the brand is set to challenge established leaders like the Yamaha MT-15 and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V.

Industry experts note that the introduction of the RC160 could further strengthen KTM’s hold on this segment, attracting customers who prefer full-faired motorcycles for track days and sportier aesthetics.

Motorcycle journalists and riding communities have already begun comparing the KTM 160 Duke with its rivals. The bike’s lightweight frame, precise handling, and high-revving engine promise a spirited ride, especially for city commuting and occasional highway blasts. While the Yamaha MT-15 remains a benchmark for refinement, the 160 Duke’s stronger feature list and performance specs could make it a top contender for 2025 buyers.

With the RC160 expected to debut soon, KTM is clearly on a mission to expand its customer base in India. Industry analysts believe that aggressive pricing, backed by premium build quality and brand image, could help KTM capture a significant share of the entry-level performance segment.

The KTM 160 Duke price and features make it one of the most attractive new launches of 2025, especially for riders who want a blend of performance, tech, and style without stretching their budget into the 200cc segment.
