A shocking new video has surfaced showing the dramatic escape of thieves from the Louvre Museum in Paris. The footage captures the moment suspects used a mechanical ladder to flee after a multi-million dollar jewelry heist. The robbery occurred earlier this week, targeting France’s historic crown jewels.

The stolen items are valued at over $100 million. According to the Associated Press, the gang is believed to consist of four individuals. French authorities are still investigating the brazen theft, one of the largest in the museum’s history.

Louvre Heist Details Revealed in Security Footage

The newly emerged video shows two individuals carefully descending a mechanical ladder. They appear to look around repeatedly during their escape. The truck carrying the ladder was parked on a busy road beside the Seine River.

This is not the first clip related to the crime. Another video shared by a French channel reportedly showed a thief cutting through a glass display case. The Louvre’s director, Laurence des Cars, has since acknowledged a critical security failure.

She confirmed that only a single camera was monitoring the gallery containing the priceless jewels. This inadequate surveillance failed to provide an early warning. Staff were unable to spot the robbers in time to prevent the escape.

German Company’s Unusual Response to Louvre Theft

In an unexpected twist, a German company found its equipment at the center of the international incident. The thieves used a lift manufactured by Böcker Maschinenwerke GmbH. The company, based in Werne, produces furniture and construction lifts.

The firm’s response quickly gained attention on social media. Böcker posted a new advertisement on Instagram featuring an image of its ladder lift extending toward the Louvre’s balcony. The tagline read, “When you need to move fast.”

Alexander Böcker, the company’s managing director, told the Associated Press he was initially shocked. He stated the lift was misused for the robbery. He added that “once the initial shock had subsided, black humour took over.” The company clarified its lift is not approved for transporting people.

The investigation into the Louvre heist continues as Interpol joins the search for the missing crown jewels and the unidentified thieves.
