Larsen & Toubro will build a Nvidia B300 AI factory in Chennai. The client is US-based Together AI. It will be India’s largest single-cluster AI facility. The order runs through L&T’s infrastructure arm, LTN Compute, and its data centre unit, Vyoma.AI. Its value is estimated between Rs 10,000 crore and Rs 15,000 crore.

The facility will house 10,000 Nvidia B300 GPUs. That makes it the country’s largest single AI cluster to date. It will power Together AI’s cloud platform. The workloads include large-scale inference, fine-tuning and training for enterprise customers worldwide.

L&T’s Chennai campus is designed for gigawatt-scale capacity over time. Phase one alone is built for 250 megawatts of power. Infrastructure readiness already stands at 150 MVA. The company calls the project part of its Gigawatt AI Infrastructure Mission. That mission aims to position India as a hub for AI compute, not just software services.

The deal reflects a wider race. Indian infrastructure firms are chasing demand from AI companies that need large, power-hungry data centres outside the US. Together AI sells inference and training services built on Nvidia hardware. It has been expanding its footprint as compute costs and chip availability tighten in American data centre markets.

For Nvidia, the deal adds another marquee customer to its B300 rollout. The B300 is the chipmaker’s newest data centre GPU line. It targets large language model training and inference at scale. Indian engineering conglomerates like L&T have moved into AI data centre construction as a new revenue line. They are betting that global AI firms will keep signing long-term compute contracts through the rest of the decade.

The pattern goes beyond one deal. American AI infrastructure providers are increasingly turning to Indian engineering and construction majors to build capacity fast. That beats developing everything domestically or waiting on US permitting timelines.

L&T has not disclosed a completion date for the Chennai facility. Nor has it said how much of the order value covers construction versus hardware and long-term service contracts. Together AI has not issued its own statement on the deployment beyond L&T’s disclosure.
