The Maryland Lottery has selected four artists as winners of its first-ever statewide art contest. Their original artwork will be featured on a new “Maryland Treasures” scratch-off ticket. The tickets are scheduled to go on sale in March 2026.
The contest received an overwhelming response from the public. Nearly 2,200 entries were submitted by more than 700 Maryland residents.

Meet the Winning Maryland Artists
Each winning artist will receive a $4,000 award for their work. Their creations will celebrate Maryland’s unique history and culture.
The four winners are Courtney Bindl of Timonium, Julia Chiplis of Frederick, Gia Coakley of Mount Airy, and Kevin Richardson of Columbia. Their specific winning artwork will be revealed to the public next March.
The new scratch-off game will feature all four designs. Officials believe the locally-inspired art will hold special appeal for state residents.
