Applications are open for the Blue Food Futures Research Grant Program 2026. The Blue Food Futures Program (BFFP) builds on the groundwork laid by the global Blue Food Assessment and the Aquatic Blue Food Coalition, driving forward key research and policy integration efforts. By focusing on the contributions and limitations of blue food systems, the Program informs decision-makers on blue foods’ roles in sustainable food systems and climate adaptation, helping shape national and international policy discussions.

BFFP is excited to announce the launch of its inaugural Research Grant Program. As part of the UN Ocean Decade endorsed program, the Research Grant Program seeks to empower emerging researchers and professionals dedicated to advancing the role of blue foods in global food systems transformation. This program aims to strengthen the link between science, policy, and action in blue food research, supporting innovative ideas that address pressing challenges in food, climate, nature, and social equity.

  • Opportunities to present research findings at international policy fora.
  • Integration into a global network of blue food researchers, policymakers, and practitioners.
