RANGPUR CORRESPONDENT: No death from Covid-19 was recorded in Rangpur division during the last 24 hours.
Eight districts of this division for the first time in last four months witnessed a day without human casualties from the pandemic.
The total number of deaths in the division stood at 1,218 as per a bulletin released by the Health Directorate on Sunday.
Health officials said the Covid-19 situation has largely improved with declining test positivity rate (TPR) and a rise in recovery rate during the last five weeks in the division.
Assistant Director (Health) for Rangpur division Dr ZA Siddiqui told Zoombangla.com that earlier on May 16 Rangpur division witnessed zero coronavirus deaths since the pandemic began.
The number of Covid-19 cases reached at 54,206 in Rangpur division as 46 new patients were newly diagnosed positive after testing 847 samples at a daily TPR of 5.43 percent on Sunday.
Chief of Divisional Coronavirus Service and Prevention Task Force and Principal of Rangpur Medical College Professor Dr AKM Nurunnobi urged people to follow the health directives to maintain the improving trend of Covid-19 in the division.
