OnePlus is preparing to introduce its next mid-range smartphone in India, with the Nord 6 scheduled to launch on April 7 at 7 pm IST. The company has confirmed the date but has not clarified whether the unveiling will take place through a formal event or a quieter online rollout. As with previous launches, any live presentation is expected to be streamed ØšØ¨Øą its official channels.

In the days leading up to the launch, the company has begun sharing details through teasers and a dedicated product page on Amazon. The listing confirms that the device will be sold through the platform alongside the brandâs own online store. Buyers will have three colour choices at launch: Fresh Mint, Pitch Black, and Quick Silver.
Pricing remains undisclosed for now, though early indications suggest the device will sit between Rs. 35,000 and Rs. 40,000. That would place it slightly above the Nord 5, which entered the market last year starting at Rs. 31,999. Storage options are expected to include 8GB RAM with 256GB storage and a higher 12GB variant with the same storage capacity.
On the design front, the Nord 6 appears closely aligned with a model already released in China earlier this year. It features a flat frame and a square-shaped camera module positioned at the top-left corner of the rear panel. Two cameras and an LED flash sit within the module, while the rest of the layout follows a familiar minimalist approach.
The display is one of the more prominent upgrades. The handset is set to carry a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with a 1.5K resolution and a refresh rate that can go up to 165Hz. Brightness levels are said to reach as high as 3,600 nits, with support for high-frequency PWM dimming. The company is also introducing a feature aimed at improving touch responsiveness in damp conditions.
Performance will be handled by a Snapdragon 8 series chipset, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The device will run on Android 16-based software out of the box. The company claims notable gains in CPU, GPU, and AI performance, supported by benchmark scores shared ahead of launch.
Camera details are still limited, but the phone is expected to include a 50-megapixel primary sensor alongside a secondary monochrome lens. A front-facing 16-megapixel camera is likely to handle selfies and video calls.
Battery capacity stands out as unusually large for this segment, with a 9,000mAh unit confirmed. The company says it can deliver up to two and a half days of moderate use, supported by 80W fast charging and reverse charging capabilities.

With the launch just days away, most remaining details, including final pricing and availability timelines, are expected to be clarified at the event itself. The device enters a competitive segment, and its real-world performance will be closely watched once it reaches consumers.
