Pakistan’s Sindh Governor threatens PTI leaders of action

INTERNATIONAL DESK: Pakistan’s Sindh Governor Imran Ismail warns the National Assembly of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf members that if they vote for Imran Khan in the No-confidence motion, they will be prosecuted.

Sources indicate that the Speaker was advised by sources to summon the assembly session on any day other than March 22.

As they presented the no-trust motion to the National Assembly secretariat, the Opposition parties of Pakistan were able to put aside mutual hatred in order to expel Imran Khan. The Imran Khan government however, has shown confidence in its ability to defeat the no trust motion.

The governor stated that he had conveyed the special message from PM Khan to Aleem Khan. Aleem Khan, disgruntled PTI leader had left for London Wednesday to meet Jahangir Tareen (PML-N supremo) and Nawaz Sharif, another disgruntled PTI leader. The Dawn reported that he reached Lahore on Saturday.

Jahangir Tareen members who are disgruntled approached Aleem Khan on Saturday to clear up any miscommunications, just days after Aleem Khan met Nawaz Sharif (PML-N) supremo.

The meeting took place against the backdrop of Aleem Khan’s return from London without meeting Jahangir Tareen, an ‘ailing” Jahangir Tareen, and the comments made by his group members that Aleem Khan would not be accepted as a candidate to the Punjab chief minister’s position.

Aleem Khan had been very active prior to his departure to London. In a matter of 30 days, he had met 40 Punjab Members of Provincial Assembly (MPAs), ten of which are provincial ministers. The Sindh governor expressed hope that Aleem Khan would not support the PTI. A development that occurred today was that PM Imran Khan assigned an important task for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader to complete preparations for a power-show in Islamabad, ahead of the voting on the no-trust initiative.

An earlier part of the day, it was revealed that PM Khan will spend two days with members the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf National Assembly (MNAs), before a no-trust motion against him.
