Pininfarina Partners Infinix for NOTE 60 Ultra Flagship Phone

Pininfarina has entered the smartphone design space through a new collaboration with Infinix. The result is the Infinix NOTE 60 Ultra, introduced during Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona.

The device marks a clear shift in strategy for the brand. Instead of another mid-range release, Infinix is positioning the NOTE 60 Ultra as a full flagship built around premium design and unusual hardware choices.

Italian supercar design influence shapes the NOTE 60 Ultra

The most noticeable element of the device is its rear design. Infinix says the NOTE 60 Ultra uses a Uni-Chassis Cam Module, a single sheet of Gorilla Glass Victus that integrates the camera system directly into the back panel.

This approach removes the typical raised camera bump seen on most modern smartphones. The rear surface remains flat and continuous, giving the phone a cleaner silhouette.

The design collaboration with Pininfarina is visible in the styling details and color themes. The phone arrives in four finishes inspired by Italian automotive culture: Torino Black, Monza Red, Amalfi Blue, and Roma Silver.

A slim lighting strip runs across the rear panel. It activates during power-on and notifications. The back also includes a hidden Active Matrix display capable of showing alerts and simple animations.

High-end hardware pushes Infinix into the flagship tier

The NOTE 60 Ultra carries a triple-camera system led by a 200-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HPE sensor. The system also includes a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens and an ultra-wide camera with a 112-degree field of view.

Zoom capabilities range from optical crop zoom to 100× digital zoom. The phone also introduces XDR Ultra HDR capture for the first time in the Infinix lineup.

One of the device’s most unusual capabilities is two-way satellite communication. The system allows calls and messaging beyond normal cellular coverage rather than only emergency SOS signals.

The display measures 1.5K resolution and runs at a 144Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness reaches up to 4,500 nits. Stereo speakers tuned by JBL provide the audio system.

Power comes from the MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultimate chipset built on a 4nm process. The device ships with Android 16 through the company’s XOS 16 software interface.

Battery capacity reaches 7,000mAh using a silicon-carbon cell. Infinix says the battery includes a self-healing technology that can restore around 1 percent of capacity every 200 charge cycles.

Charging speeds are also aggressive. Wired charging reaches 100W while wireless charging is rated at 50W. According to the company, a full wired charge from near empty takes under an hour.

The collaboration with Pininfarina signals a broader ambition for Infinix. The brand has historically focused on mid-range devices, particularly in emerging markets across Asia, Africa, and parts of Europe.

The NOTE 60 Ultra represents a different direction. The device arrives with flagship specifications, design-focused branding, and only a single configuration with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.

Three years of Android upgrades and five years of security updates are promised. That level of support moves closer to what consumers expect from premium Android phones.
