The scale of response to Dhurandhar 2 is becoming difficult to ignore, even by the standards of recent Hindi cinema. By the end of its fourth day in theatres, the film had already pushed its worldwide gross to Rs 691.32 crore, with India contributing a substantial Rs 541.97 crore in gross earnings. The domestic net figure, meanwhile, has reached Rs 454.12 crore, indicating a level of sustained audience turnout rarely seen over a single opening weekend.
There was a brief dip after the opening day, which had pulled in Rs 102.55 crore following strong paid previews. Friday softened to Rs 80.72 crore, but the weekend reversed that slowdown. Saturday climbed sharply to Rs 113 crore, and Sunday held firm with Rs 114.85 crore. Two consecutive days above the Rs 100 crore mark have effectively redefined expectations for a Hindi-language release.
Occupancy trends on Sunday told their own story. Morning shows opened above 80 percent, dipped slightly through the afternoon, then surged again during evening hours before closing with strong late-night attendance. The pattern suggests not just initial curiosity but repeat and sustained interest through the day, especially during peak showtimes.
Internationally, the film has found early traction as well. North America alone has contributed around $11 million by Saturday, with projections pointing toward approximately $13.5 million for the opening weekend. That early pace places it ahead of several recent releases in the same market, though longer-term comparisons remain premature.
The filmâs performance has also shaped the competitive landscape. A simultaneous release, Ustaad Bhagat Singh, has struggled to match even daily benchmarks, with its global total still below Rs 71.3 crore. The gap between the two releases has widened quickly, leaving little ambiguity about audience preference in the first few days.
What stands out most is the weekend total itself. At Rs 454 crore net in India, the film has delivered the highest opening weekend ever recorded for a Hindi-language production. Earlier benchmarks from films like Jawan and Pathaan have been surpassed by a considerable margin, at least within the Hindi market alone.
There are already comparisons being drawn with older benchmarks such as Baahubali 2, largely because of the weekend trajectory. Yet those comparisons remain incomplete at this stage. The first few days offer momentum, not a final verdict.
For now, what is clear is that Dhurandhar 2 has established a commanding early position. Whether that pace holds through the week will determine how far this run actually goes.
