The news agency Reuters says that The International Consumer Electronics Show CES-2025 was held in Las Vegas, USA. One of the surprises in this biggest event of electronic products was the sympathetic robot Romi.
A Japanese company named Mixi Inc. has created the robot to help people fight loneliness, anxiety and depression. Authorities claim that Romi is equipped with advanced technology capable of providing real empathy and normal conversation compared to conventional conversational AI.
“A lot of people are a little more socially isolated,” Scott Pike, a representative at Mixey Inc., told Reuters. They have no one to talk to. But Romy will talk to you. The wonderful robot is currently only available in the Japanese market. Romi’s retail price is $570. Although there are no plans to release the robot outside of Japan, Mixi Inc. is conducting market research to create Romi for different languages and cultures.
