Samsung Electronics on Thursday announced the launch of two new mid-range smartphones, the Galaxy A57 5G and the Galaxy A37 5G, continuing its push to bring longer software support and artificial intelligence features to a wider segment of users.

Both devices run on One UI 8.5 based on Android 16 and share a similar foundation in terms of display and battery. Each comes with a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel offering a 120Hz refresh rate, alongside a 5000mAh battery that the company says is designed to support extended daily use. Samsung is also promising up to six years of Android updates, a move that reflects growing competition around long-term software reliability in this category.
In its announcement, the company framed the release as part of a broader effort to expand access to AI-driven tools. Built-in assistants such as Bixby, Gemini Live and Perplexity are included on both models, aimed at simplifying routine tasks through on-device intelligence.
The Galaxy A57 5G sits at the higher end of the pair. It features a 6.9mm metal body and uses Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ on both the front and back. The device runs on the Exynos 1680 processor and incorporates a larger vapour cooling chamber, suggesting a focus on sustained performance under heavier workloads.
Its camera system includes a 50-megapixel main sensor, supported by 12MP and 5MP secondary lenses, along with a 12MP front-facing camera. Samsung says the 5000mAh battery can last up to two days under typical use. The phone carries an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. Pricing is set at Rs 56,999 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, while the 12GB and 256GB model is listed at Rs 62,499. The device is scheduled for release on April 2, with pre-orders currently open.
The Galaxy A37 5G follows with a slightly slimmer 7.4mm design and a different camera arrangement. It also features a 50MP main camera, paired with an 8MP ultra-wide and a 5MP macro lens. Samsung notes improvements in low-light photography through its Nightography feature, while the front camera supports Super HDR video recording.
Like the A57, it is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+ on both sides and carries an IP68 rating. The base model, with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, is priced at Rs 41,999. Additional configurations include 8GB with 256GB storage and a 12GB RAM variant with 256GB storage. The phone is set to be released on April 9, with pre-orders already underway.

Taken together, the two devices reflect a steady shift in Samsungâs mid-range lineup, where durability, longer update cycles and AI integration are becoming standard expectations rather than premium features.
