Samsung will host its Galaxy Unpacked event on Wednesday, July 22, in London, beginning at 2 p.m. British Summer Time. The company will unveil its latest foldable smartphones and Galaxy Watches.

Samsung is expected to introduce the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, a standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 (called the Z Fold 8 Wide), and the Galaxy Z Flip 8. Pre-orders are anticipated to open immediately following the event, with sales beginning around August 7.
A Compact Fold and a Refined Flip
The Z Fold 8 Wide represents Samsung’s response to user feedback about previous folds being too large. The narrower, more squat design is similar to the Huawei Pura X Max. This gives consumers options: the Ultra for maximum power, the Wide for comfortable daily use, and the Flip for classic form factor fans.
All three are expected to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, putting them in line with Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S26 series. This ensures foldables aren’t relegated to mid-range performance but compete directly with traditional flagships.
What Else Is Coming
Samsung will also unveil new Galaxy Watches. Details remain sparse, but foldable tech isn’t the only thing on the agenda. The company has built anticipation around the broader product refresh.
Samsung’s foldable lineup has matured significantly. The devices work. The durability is there. The question now is whether consumers see them as necessary upgrades or remain content with traditional phones. The Z Fold 8 Wide might answer that by offering a more practical size.
The Unpacked event begins July 22 in London. Pre-orders follow immediately, with devices shipping in early August.
