Samsung is expected to introduce the Galaxy Z Fold Wide alongside its regular Galaxy Z Fold 8 lineup in July 2026, according to recent leaks and reports. The Z Fold Wide represents Samsung’s answer to Apple’s highly anticipated foldable iPhone, featuring a distinctly different form factor designed to maximize screen real estate when unfolded.

Unlike the traditional Z Fold 8, which unfolds into a narrow portrait-oriented display, the Z Fold Wide features a wider 4:3 aspect ratio that closely resembles an iPad mini when opened. The device targets users who want a true tablet replacement that fits in a phone-sized pocket. The aspect ratio provides more horizontal space for productivity tasks, gaming, and media consumption.
The Z Fold Wide will reportedly include support for the S Pen stylus, enabling note-taking, drawing, and creative work directly on the display. This positions the device as a serious tool for professionals and creative users, not merely a novelty foldable phone.
Samsung is using the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor found in the regular Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8, ensuring flagship performance across the lineup. A large 5,000+ mAh battery should provide sufficient endurance for the wider display and heavier processing demands of tablet-style use.
The Z Fold Wide’s launch on July 22, 2026 at Samsung’s London Unpacked event will reveal final specifications, pricing, and availability. Early pricing estimates suggest the Z Fold Wide will command a premium over the regular Z Fold 8, positioning it as the most expensive device in Samsung’s smartphone lineup.
