ZOOMBANGLA DESK: A six-week long photography exhibition titled ‘Bangladesh in Frames’ inaugurated in the heart of Mexico City at the Reforma Avenue on Tuesday (February 7) aiming to project culture as well as socio-economic activities of Bangladesh.
This is for the first time a photography exhibition on Bangladesh taking place in Mexico which is jointly organized by the Embassy of Bangladesh in Mexico City in collaboration with the International Affairs of Mexico City and the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Mexico.
A total of 20 photographs of eminent photographers namely Mustafiz Mamun and Abdul Momin are being displayed in the exhibition projecting landscape, culture as well as socio-economic activities of Bangladesh, which are taking the country forward towards the path of development.
The exhibition consisted of an image of our Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, spread out over a crop field which has been recognized as the largest mosaic of its kind by the Guiness World Records.
In addition, there are photographs of the Shaheed Minar (Language Martyrs Monument) and National Martyr’s Memorial in Dhaka including a picture of happy schoolgirls holding their books on the first day of the year and so on.
Doctor Diana Alarcon Gonzalez, Coordinator of Advisors and International Affairs of Mexico City inaugurated the event in the presence of Ambassador Abida Islam and Ashrafuzzaman Uzzal, President of the Bangladesh Travel Writers Association.
After the inauguration, all the attendees had a guided tour of the exhibition where the photographs were introduced to them.
The event was attended by Ambassadors of Palestine, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Jordan, Ivory Coast and diplomats from Chile and Portugal including local dignitaries, who highly appreciated the exhibition.
The photography exhibition will continue till March 15, 2023.
