Super Micro Computer Surges 17% on $60 Billion AI Data Center Orders With SpaceX

By Tusher DebnathJuly 25, 20262 Mins Read

Super Micro Computer shares soared 17% after the company announced it received over $60 billion in new orders in its latest quarter. The real story: they’re building an AI data center with SpaceX.

Super Micro is the supplier behind the scenes. The company makes server hardware, storage, and cooling systems optimized for AI workloads. It ships tens of thousands of GPU-laden servers every quarter to cloud providers, startups, and now, apparently, space companies.

The SpaceX Connection

SpaceX is getting into the inference business. The company is building compute infrastructure to support its AI operations—both for internal use (training models for Starship control systems, satellite operations, etc.) and potentially for commercial AI services.

Super Micro is the hardware partner. The $60 billion order book includes custom configurations for SpaceX’s unique thermal and power requirements. SpaceX has deep electrical engineering expertise and access to massive power infrastructure. Super Micro brings the server expertise and manufacturing scale.

Why This Matters

AI inference is becoming a utility. Every major tech company needs compute. Startups are raising billions to build AI agents and systems. Data centers are the bottleneck.

Super Micro saw this coming. The company scaled manufacturing, improved supply chain logistics, and built relationships with every GPU maker. When the AI boom hit, Super Micro was ready to sell to anyone who had the capital to buy.

The $60 billion order book suggests that demand for AI infrastructure is still accelerating. That’s not a sign of a cooling market. It’s a sign of a market that’s just getting started.

Super Micro is a plumbing company in the AI gold rush. Every miner needs picks and shovels. Super Micro is selling both.
