BSS, DHAKA: Awami League (AL) mayoral candidate for Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) elections Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh today made a pledge of taking any criticism positively by working concertedly with the mass media.
“I expect Dhaka city dwellers will cast their votes in favor of ‘Boat’ symbol to elect me the mayor and give me chance to serve them,” he said while exchanging views with journalists at Jatiya Press Club here.
Taposh pledged of making an environment-friendly smart Dhaka city with the utilization of information and communication technology.
“If elected, I will give my best efforts to build a beautiful, well-governed and modern Dhaka city with maintaining its heritage,” he said.
The AL mayoral candidate made pledges of formulating long term development plans with coordination of all government agencies and stakeholders.

Taposh said it is a must to build an advanced capital to turn Bangladeshinto a developed country by 2041.
He said if elected, basic civic facilities will be reached at the doorsteps of people within 90 days and action and work plans will be implemented in the next three months.
“We will have specific work plans to remove all irregularities,” he said.
The mayoral candidate said digging of roads for development activities will be made with the coordination of all agencies to lessen public sufferings.
“Each of our work plans will be at least for 10-year term. We will take development plans conserving the heritage of old Dhaka,” he added.
He pledged of build a green Dhaka by making it free from pollutions. “The city will be built as friendly to women, elderly people and people with special needs. Each ward under the city corporation will have a playground. Waste management will also be developed,” he said.
