The United Nations Development Programme is launching a new youth initiative. The Digital for Youth-Led Enterprise programme starts in Abuja this November. It targets young Nigerians passionate about solving national challenges.

    UNDP Youth Innovation Programme

This fully-funded design sprint will bring together 30 innovators. They will focus on agriculture, health, and education sectors. According to UNDP, the programme aligns with the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Immersive Design Sprint Aims for Tangible Digital Solutions

The five-day, in-person event runs from November 10 to 14, 2025. Selected participants will form six multidisciplinary teams. Each team will tackle a specific problem within a priority sector.

Teams will conduct systems analysis and define problem statements. They will then ideate and build prototype digital solutions. The process concludes with teams pitching their prototypes to a review panel.

Programme Offers Pathway to Mentorship and Potential Funding

The initiative goes beyond a simple workshop. Selected teams will gain access to continued support. This includes connections to mentorship and potential seed funding opportunities.

The goal is to translate ideas into viable products. This supports job creation and economic growth. It empowers a new generation of Nigerian digital entrepreneurs.

The UNDP Youth Innovation Programme represents a significant investment in Nigeria’s future. It directly tackles key national challenges through technology and young talent. This initiative could unlock a new wave of sustainable, youth-led enterprises.
