Details of the Coordinated Attacks Emerge

The attacks began on a Saturday. Insurgents first hurled grenades at a police checkpoint in Quetta. Later, an IED was detonated near an Anti-Terrorism Department vehicle.

Three more explosions shook the region that evening. Senior Superintendent of Police Asif Khan provided details to Reuters. He confirmed a blast damaged the main railway line connecting Quetta to other areas.

The explosion on the railway track was timed with a train’s schedule. It caused significant damage and suspended all rail traffic. This incident spread fear and panic throughout the capital city.

Insurgent Activity Continues Unabated

Attack patterns continued into Sunday morning. Motorcycle-borne assailants targeted a police station in Quetta. They hurled two hand grenades, with one exploding and another being defused.

Another grenade attack occurred near a police patrol post. Earlier, a construction company site on Quetta’s Sariab road was attacked. Grenades damaged machinery and injured two security guards there.

No group immediately claimed responsibility for these attacks. The region has long experienced instability and separatist movements. These incidents highlight ongoing security challenges in the province.
