WhatsApp is testing a new feature for iPhone users. It allows two separate accounts on one app. This was discovered in a recent TestFlight beta.

According to WABetaInfo, this update simplifies managing personal and work chats. Users will no longer need a separate device or the WhatsApp Business app for a second number.
How the New Account System Works
The feature adds an “Account List” in settings. Users can add a second phone number there. This can be a new number or an existing account.
Each account keeps its own chat history and settings. This includes separate backups and privacy controls. The system keeps everything neatly divided.
Switching between accounts is designed to be quick. Users can press and hold the Settings tab. They can also double-tap it to jump to the next account.
Clarity and Security for Dual Users
Notifications will show which account received a message. This prevents confusion about where a new message arrived. It makes managing two inboxes much simpler.
The feature works with the app’s existing App Lock. Face ID, Touch ID, or a passcode can protect each account. Security remains a priority during account switching.
There is no official public release date yet. The current testing phase suggests it may arrive soon. This is a highly requested feature from the user base.
This new multiple account feature could fundamentally change how people use WhatsApp on their iPhones, finally offering a native solution for separating life and work.
