People says when Marshall passed away back in 2018, Reiner took to Twitter to share his dismay. He wrote, “So sad about Penny,” when the news broke. People says Marshall was 75, and died of diabetes complications.

Soon after, he followed up with more thoughts, declaring, “I loved Penny.” The Hollywood legend went on, “I grew up with her. She was born with a great gift. She was born with a funnybone and the instinct of how to use it. I was very lucky to have lived with her and her funnybone. I will miss her.”

The outlet says Marshall previously them in 2012 that she and Reiner grew up across the street from each other in the Bronx, but didn’t know each other at the time. They met when Marshall appeared on “The Odd Couple” in 1971. A few year later, they appeared together in the 1974 episode “The Rain in Spain.”
